St. John's Anglican Church

St. John's Anglican Church is the oldest religious foundation in The Bahamas. When "The Eleutheran Adventurers" came in 1647 and they migrated to Harbour Island, it is assumed that their descendants would have been living here when this church was erected. Its pink and white building dates back to 1768, and the Loyalists worshiped here as early as the mid-1700's.

Harbour Island Tour

This tour, organized by the Bo Hengy, allows visitors to spend time exploring the island and experience the deep history associated with Harbour Island. The tour features stops at little known spots like the old fort at the end of Dunmore Street, Run Away Hill, The Narrows, and the home of Bro. Henry, renowned built builder and for whom the Bo Hengy is named.
The Tour takes approximately two hours, starting at the Monument to Early Parliamentarians and ending at Beretta's Sea Shell Inn for Lunch. Visitors also have the option of eating at any of the other establishments on the island. Golf Carts are available for the duration of the tour only. However we can arrange for an extended rental for a fee of $15 per cart up to 3:30pm.

The Levy Medical and Health Center was donated in 1963 by the Harrisville Company in honor of June and Astine T. Levy who started the Hatchet Bay Plantation. The land was donated by the Honorable & Mrs. Asa H. Pritchard, a businessman in Nassau and a native son of Governor's Harbour. There is a resident Doctor and Dentist.
